Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Cupboardful ("Cupboardful", "we", "us"), a recipe binder, shopping list and meal-planning service. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Cupboardful.
1. The service
Cupboardful lets you create, import, edit and organise recipes, build shopping lists, plan meals and cook with a step-by-step guide, across the web app and (when available) our mobile apps. We may add, change or remove features over time as the product evolves.
2. Your account
You need an account to use Cupboardful. You're responsible for the accuracy of your registration details, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the service. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you won't:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's intellectual-property or privacy rights;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, other accounts, or our systems;
- disrupt or overload the service, or bypass rate limits or security measures;
- upload malware, or content that is unlawful, harmful or abusive;
- resell or commercially exploit the service except as expressly permitted.
4. Subscription, trial & billing
Cupboardful is offered on a Personal plan (£2.99 per month, or £30 per year billed annually) and a Family plan for shared households of up to 6 people (£4.99 per month, or £50 per year billed annually). New accounts start with a 30-day free trial that does not require a payment card. If you don't subscribe, access to the paid features ends when the trial expires; your data is retained in case you subscribe later.
Subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time via the billing portal (Stripe) linked in the app; cancellation stops future renewals and your subscription remains active until the end of the current paid period. Prices are stated in pounds sterling and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We may change prices with reasonable advance notice, and any change applies from your next renewal.
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. If you believe you've been charged in error, contact us and we'll put it right.
5. Your content
You own the content you create in Cupboardful — your recipes, ingredients, steps, images, shopping lists and meal plans. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us only the limited permission needed to host, store, back up, process and display your content so we can provide the service to you and sync it across your devices. You're responsible for having the rights to any content you upload.
6. API keys & agent access
You can generate API keys to let your own tools or third-party AI agents interact with your account. You're responsible for anything done using your API keys, for keeping them secret, and for the behaviour of any tool or agent you authorise. Revoke a key in Settings if it may have been exposed. API access is subject to the same acceptable-use rules and to reasonable rate limits.
7. Availability
We work to keep Cupboardful available and reliable, but the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may suspend the service for maintenance, updates or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We recommend keeping your own copies of important data using the in-app export tools.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cupboardful will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
9. Termination
You may stop using Cupboardful and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to the service. When your account is deleted, your associated content is removed as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and take reasonable steps to notify you. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
